It seems like all of San Diego County is buzzing about all the excitement of the Fourth of July! Independence Day is my favorite time of the summer because it means that the season is in full swing now. I’ll be attending a friend of mine’s house in Encinitas for a barbeque, and I’m sure everyone in town has some type of fun activity in place for the 4th. In case you are without plans this 4th of July in San Diego, there’s a big weekend planned at PetCo Park for the San Diego Padres all weekend long! The Padres open up a four game series with the Houston Astros starting tonight through the 4th of July on Sunday. Stick around after Friday’s game at 7:05 because there are post-game fireworks that will light up the San Diego sky! Saturday’s game is an earlier start at 5:35 and the first 25,000 lucky fans will get a FREE Padres beach towel for all those summer days and nights ahead at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas! After the game there will be a special concert after the game featuring Liquid Blue! And on Independence Day Sunday, the first 10,000 kids will get a FREE Padres T-Shirt courtesy of Cox/Channel 4 San Diego! There’s a big weekend in store at PetCo Park both before and after the games, so if your Fourth of July plans are still up in the air, head down to see the San Diego Padres and enjoy America’s Pastime on America’s Birthday!
