If you are an artist, whether professional or amateur, in Encinitas or the San Diego area then listen up! The City of Encinitas is seeking artists to take part in exhibits all around the city starting in 2017. A subsection of the City of Encinitas called the Encinitas Arts Division is inviting all artists to apply to exhibit their work. You can apply with either two-dimensional or three-dimensional artwork and, if accepted, your work will be displayed at one of the city’s three galleries: Civic Center Gallery, Encinitas Library Gallery, and Encinitas Community Center Gallery.
Starting in 2017 there will be a total of 56 exhibits mounted at all three galleries throughout the city. Even artists who might not have enough work to display are still encouraged to apply by pairing up with another artist to combine their work for a full exhibit. And get this: all proceeds from the sale of various pieces will go directly to the artist. There will be NO GALLERY COMMISSION. What an amazing opportunity! A previous participant, Neil Brooks, was able to sell 9 paintings from one exhibit.
In order to apply artists will need to fill out an online application and send in digital images of their artwork. You can find the application and any other instructions at this link: http://www.ci.encinitas.ca.us/index.aspx?page=316 . The deadline to send in your work is September 15th so you better get started right away. You don’t want to miss out on this opportunity. While you are working on that, don’t forget that my Cash Giveaway has a very quick approaching deadline of September 16th. Don’t forget to enter for that here: http://www.coldwellbankergiveaway.com/lindamoore .
