October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that goes for those with homes in Encinitas. This is a great time of year for those with homes in Encinitas to pick up some unique items while supporting a great cause, but you should be careful. Every year there are companies that misrepresent themselves and take your money without passing it on to any charities.
The best thing that you can do to make sure your money is actually going to benefit those that are suffering from breast cancer is to look for a tag or label that states where the money is going to. The best thing to do is visit the websites of reputable charities and find out who they are partnering with. You can find a list of partners for Susan G. Komen for the Cure by clicking here or find partners of Young Survival Coalition, for example.
Susan G. Komen not only partners with different organizations they also have a host of their own products with profits going directly to the charity. Some of the products that they offer on their website includes everything from various women’s apparel to men’s t-shirts to cases and sleeves for your tablet and smartphone.
Stand up for breast cancer awareness, but make sure that when you do your donation is going to the right place.
